On my turbo setup I had cocked my carbs to high up with my hanger and it put a rip in the little grove that the carbs set into on the boot, it only runs maybe 1/3 of the way around, but when boost rolls on it leaks bad and causes the sled to run BAD at WOT. was planning on riding it again this weekend and thinking some sort of RTV sealant and a wider clamp to hold it all together and not pull apart for a last ride.
any thoughts on what to use to fix it??
Also, if anyone has a carb boot for the mag side 2 carbs kicking around, and is in the US call me at 406-871-0955.... i need to get one ASAP.. going on a trip next thursday and need to have one by then, should be able to buy one, but can get it faster on here if somebody has one!
as far as before it ripped, my new attack 20 hooks up HARD, the think wheelies pretty good and pulls out of any hole you can dig! except on i made, pics to come!

well, looks like I got one hooked up elsewhere, but now its time I figure out how to patch this SOB back together for a ride! I need to find a wide ole clamp to keep the joint from trying to blow apart!!

You might try cutting a section of of bicycle tube and sliding over it with a wide clamp. It might hold the pressure. Good luck. Ken...

Might try some black silicone electrical wire wrap.It is a rubbery, tape like material that sticks to itself. Then, maybe clamp over it.Just clean the boot off well, no oil residue.

I cleaned the boot off with dawn dish soap, as it disolves everything petroleum based. Then i put it together with weatherstrip adhesive, I used an old carb inlet from the stock airbox to test and it seemed to hold the rubber together VERY well, A slightly wider clamp is going o nit along with a small circle strip cut out of one of hte old carb inlet peices. this definately isnt a permanant solution, but It should be more then enough for 1 ride. also, i had the carbs kinda yanked up TO hard as they used to fall out, so i think that helped, i have figured out how to mount them better, so that should help a lot as well.
it ran halfway decent with the ripped boot, but definately leaked, i think glueing/holding carbs better and a wider clamp should hold me over more then enough.
happy new year!

so it seems I got 1 boot to replace the ripped one and 2 others are starting up...
dont really wanna pay $30+ apeice for new ones... just curious if anyone has some kicking around.
working on another hacked together setup to hold it all together now.
