RX1 gear reduction

What the hell are you talking about???!!?!?

The chaincase has one gear ratio. If you reduce your gear ratio (by changing the sprockets), you can affect the top end. By lowering the gear ratio, you marginally improve the bottom end and may cause reduction of top end.

The clutches make it an IVR type transmission that works within a set range of ratios. Under WOT, it begins shifting as soon as the rpm hits shift point - which can be adjusted by changing the weight distribution on the weights, springs, spring tensions, and helix. Ideally, it'll run 10300 rpm - that'll give best acceleration AND best top end.

In addition to the transmission, there is one additional gear reduction between the crankshaft and the primary clutch. It does not "kick in" - it is a simple gear that reduces by exactly the same ratio no matter the engine speed or throttle position.

Mathematically, changing gear ratio has ABSOLUTELY NO effect on horsepower - practically, there is always some friction, which will cause *marginal* loss of horsepower, but which is independant of the level of reduction.

There is absolutely nothing that will "kick in" or gradually come on that will in any way cause a drop in horsepower. It will make exactly the same horsepower at all speeds and load levels depending only on the RPM and throttle position.

That what my question was

The gear reduction from the crank to the primary clutch. So it is always on? I don't lose any horse power? Thanks lazy bastard.

what the gear reduction off the crank is a small gear 31 tooth on the crank and it drives a larger 37 tooth gear effectivly giving mor torque at the clutch-by slowing it down -it also allows the clutch to live at a more friendly rpm-just take the eng rpm and multiply by .8 to get clutch rpm
and take engine torque and multiply by 1.2 to get clutch torque
the horsepower is not affected
