Rx1 mixture setting stock?

Going to take it for a good run today but I am pretty sure it was a stuck float needle and valve. It is running much much better but need to test it to be sure. Have you been finding your oil level increasing mine was and it was gas cut.

Let me know how you make out.

Hey bud check your float needle valve and seat on the rich running cylinder it fixed mine running strong and gas milegae is back to normal. The float needle was stuck open was the problem.

I switched the needle and seat assemblies from the problem cylinder #3 to good running cylinder #4, on the last carb disassembly, figuring that if that was the problem, it would rear it's ugly head on #4.. The problem stayed at #3... #4 still running perfect.. :o|

ok just to recap what all have you done and how many times now?

I have disassembled the fuel pump, replaced 2 coils that were not clipping on the plugs well, and switched coils between cylinders. I have disassembled the carbs and cleaned them 3 times, the last time swapping all of the brass between carb 3 and 4, including the needle and seats. Carbs have also been synced. Every time, the problem has stayed with #3 cyl. I am having a compression and leak down test done, as soon as I can. I am baffled.. It runs awesome top end, 10200 rpm, skis in the air. Sounds like it's skipping on idle, eating fuel like crazy(6 mpg), and smells rich.. 1,2 and 4 plugs look great.

Update;
Apparently, something that I stated earlier is true, that this problem would be something I did/screwed up..

The mechanic called me today, stating that all went well with the compression check, with all cyls relatively equal in the high 130's. so he proceeded to remove the air box while the engine was running, and saw that cylinder #3 had fuel just dumping down the carb... Apparently carb #3 was missing part #8FA-14141-44-00 main nozzle.. That's the part where it would be my fault, for not catching this.. Must have fallen out when I cleaned the carbs.. Probably when I blew them out.. So now I have this on order, and it will hopefully fix this cylinder.. This would explain 6 mpg also, as the needle seats here.. I will update when I get it back.. Thanx for the help. I'd really like to try that mod air box and jetting soon.. Does it make a big difference?

Ouch thats must have been a hard one to admit too. I am sure that is the problem and you missed it three times lol. Ok ok I am not laughing at you but with you. Yea the air box mod does make a difference. Hope it rips for you now!

Yeah, I have no problem admitting if I screw something up I guess.. I try to be honest.. I just can't believe I missed it... Not like me.. Usually pretty anal about that kind of thing.. Oh well.

I must be working too much and not enough sleep. 12 to 16 hr days when it was snowing, then trying to work on the sled afterwards.. Now its all melting.. I hate January thaws..

Just think how clean those carbs are now but dont let it sit too long without putting in some Mechanic in a bottle just to be sure when your ready its ready.

I just bought some of that at home depot the other day. How much do I put in for a full tank of fuel? If I use 1 oz peg gallon like it says, i'll need a lot more.. I got the ethanol shield too..
