I have an 05 RX1 stock. What should the R's be at full throttle? Right now the motor goes to 10 and then creeps up to 10,200, and I only see about 108 on the speedo. The sled has 1700 miles on it. Is this the right RPM range? Thanks

I have about 2300 miles on mine and I see about 10,300 - 10,400 at WOT. As far as MPH, I have seen 115MPH on the Dream Meter.

Good to see the top speed numbers are nearly the same as mine also. I upgraded to a fully clipped 1 3/8" snowcross camoplast track and was worried as I was only getting 114 last weekend on a loose pack trail on the dreamometer. I do have ecp and evac kit though and super tip weights. It was pulling 10,200 rpm. When it was completly stock with stock cone lug track, I saw 119 and climbing yet when I let off, but was on a lake with ice/hard snow mix, the track may have been spinning. This is a 2003 Limited edition with 700 miles.

Thats about right, before I changed mine all around (stock) I saw 117mph at 10,300 rpms. Now bigger track different suspension on slushy snow covered lake I was only seeing 109mph but it is getting there a lot quicker.

stock rpm

I also have an '05 Rx-1. When I first got it, it actually seemed faster top end wise than after all of the clutching and filters. I had seen 10,200 and around 120 on the dream meter. I then installed the oso primary spring and it tached 10,400 and I've seen 124 on the dm. Wish I could get it to tach in the power band now (I'm lucky to touch 10k.) #$%&*

When I got my 2003 rx1 I was getting 10.000-10.200 with stock track(126mph) on dream meter. Now with 1 1/4 ripsaw and 96 studs and ecp kit I get around 9700-9800 rpm. Going to try some springs and lighter weight. I'm also 280lb rider. I've run 101 in 1000 feet on snow with radar gun before the changes.

I am hearing that the 05's are only hitting 102-105 on the gun in ideal conditions, in stock form. Can someone with results from a gun PLEASE tell me I'm wrong!! I will be switching to the Black John setup once my 05 is broken in. Thank you again Black John, is there any chance of getting the Dalton setup as well?

set up

you would like my dolton set up well here goes. i have three differnt set ups 1st dyp 57.5 arms with blk/sil spring 54R46 helx yamaha sillver spring this is a good trail and short drag set up. 2nd all the same but with the blue/blk dalton primary sping. this works well for radar runs. higher engament and higher top end more rpm. last but not lest are the newest arms 58 gram note that 56 that these are not as agesve arm but there set up to take the yamaha tuneing rivets with 56R43 helx with the dalton black spring at 80deg and blue/black primary spring. i did not get much time on this set up due to the lack of ice on the lakes here last year but had very good resuts with the ist two set ups. allso jet up theres a lot of performace to be gained there. allso i lost so perforemace with bad rings last year. i have a new 05 moter setting on the bench to go in as soon as i get some time.

helx

ow yes i forgot i dont run studs. this R helx works very well for this. it real loads the moter on the lanch and realy helps off of the line.

I have an 05 RX-1 and I got 132mph. I have filters and a timing key. I've clutched it as well. With this set-up I out-launch stock Apex's pretty good with a slight edge on top end!(they go about 130'ish I hear - at least the ones I've tried and beat) So 2005's are not the slowest sleds!

I'm helping a friend set up his Apex quicker to set a new goal for myself - I strongly believe I'll hit 140 if not 145mph before long!

I'll gear it, add the hauckpowersports silencer and more clutch work! If this does not cut it - then a track(9791 camoplast).
