I installed a Stage-2 Clutch Kit on my shorty RX1 with a rip saw track. My primary has the HH installed & my secondary settings are 2:6. Others in my group have stock RX-1 shorties and I see no significant different between my sled at the other stock sleds.

dp..... why don't you call them up first and talk to them. They may have a few suggestions or corrections to how you set it up. I've haven't seen any negative posts about there kits yet. Give them a chance to remedy your situation before you attack them. Along with Freddie (supertuner) they have been the best I've seen on customer service.

I have called the SpeedShop and left a message four times this week with no reply. I am up in Fort Kent, ME riding this week and I would like to see if anyone out there had a recommendation for the clutch settings.

dp I have also installed this kit with the most dramatic results dollar for dollar of any other kit available. I have a 2003 shorty and raced a 2004 shorty and out of the hole I jump to 4-5 sled lengths ahead. By mid range I have a 7-8 sled length lead. We top out the same with me 8 sleds ahead. My friend was so impressed ( he also does performance work) he wants to measure everything that came in the kit. I feel this is not fair to Matt and told him to contact the Speedshop and he will. My advice (I know you didn't ask for it ) is to keep trying Matt and maybe try him through here.

I think matt is out of town...I too have this kit and it does work...

What are your weights set at??

Yeah, you must have something wrong, My son and I both have the clutch kits. We did one at a time so we could see if there was a difference, and there was a big improvement of about 6 - 8 sled lengths over the sled that didn't have the kit. I also think it was the best gain for the $. I'm sure if you call Matt he'll help you out.

Something isn't right here. Matt is one of the most standup guys out there. Try him again.

Tom, I have been very busy testing. Next time you need to get me sooner than at the Shop, call 715-340-0554 (cell phone) I always carry that with me. As for your settings. Take your secondary to 90 (6 and 3). Also every sled isnt created equaly, this is not rare that we may need to adjust your weights a little. There are so many things that come into play and please know, your kit is TUNEABLE. A few questions for you?

Do both kits perform similarly?
If not, tell me about the differernces

Heres a setup to try in yours:
Heel=1/4 and 3/4
Mid = 7/16 steel bolt with thick washer
Tip = 3/8 steel with thin washer

Let me know how it turns out. And feel free to call my other line any time

dpcrxone,

There are a few people on this site that I would not even think of defending but Matt is not one of those guys. I know Matt, he would never sell a product that didn't work or that he believed didn't work. Give him a chance to work with you on this....He'll get it fixed.....if you dont believe me ask the 100 other guys on this site he has sold the kit to.

Matt is an upfront and honest guy...

For $399 this was not worth the money!!!! Not impressed!!

You really need to worry about hookup. Add the power and the track will break free too easily, making you spin on spot for critical seconds while your lesser buddies make a fool out of you.

Talked to Matt today, set the Secondary to 3 and 6, Our sleds are animals now!!!! My RPMs are about 10.2k and crawl to 10.5k.

I was about 5 sled lengths ahead of a stock 03 with 04 clutch parts.

Thanks again MATT!!!

Look forward to doing business with you again in the future!

Fort Kent Watch Out!!!

You should either delete this post or edit the question to something like: "Anybody know how to get ahold of Matt at the speedshop"

Is this post from Tom, Rick or Dave? My Money is on the little guy once you get this dialed in. Didn't hear from you guys again today so I figured you were all set.

By the way, you really should edit the topic part of this post. It's REALLY not fair to Matt, alot of people read here and it's really not good advertising for him. He's great to deal with
