RX1 Suspension swap

I posted this in the stock forum by mistake so i will move it here to see if i wont have more info... I have a 2003 RX1 with a 121, i was going to buy extension to make it a 136. But then again i would like to completly swap the suspension to have something better. What kind of suspension should i be looking at for the easiest way of installation and better performance overall ? ski-doo, artic-cat......

Do what ahicks suggested in your previous post.

Click on search on the top of the page. In the search block, put in "suspension and swap" Go to bottom of page and click on search.

You will get about 150 posts on the subject. There is no easy answer. Depends on how much money you want to spend. ZX2 may be easiest since you can order a mounting kit with the suspension.

Just start reading. Some posts may be more helpful than others.

For the 2003 RX1 ANY suspension is a upgrade. Even if you get the rx to ride ok it weighs 75lbs! I upgraded to a polaris Edge and it was great skid. cost me about $300 and did the install myself which was the first time I ever removed a skid much less did a custom job. I screwed up the mounting but ahicks got me straightend out.

Then the ZX2 came out and I had to try it, best suspension every made period. It totally changes the sled for the better.

The edge rode better then the proaction and wa about 10 lbs lighter.

The ZX2 nto only rode better but makes the sled feel about 100 lbs lighter in a moguled out trail. It also cut about 30lbs from the rear end.

Ski doo SC3 are popular swaps as well. Just find a good deal on one with good shocks and go have fun.

That's the biggest thing to consider......but don't take offense. I'd say the same about some other suspensions as well.... ;>)

I read the ZX2 was good but it slowed down the machine by afew MPH.

I just found a SC10 off a 1998 grand touring, is this a SC10 III ?

No, SC10 III is 2003 to 2005ish vintage.

I think I lost 5-10 mph with my M10 on my 05 Vector, but I don't really care about top speed...a plush ride is what I was after and I got it!
