I now have three friends with SRX's. First one is a 98 with Haucks lake port job, cold air, reeds, ect.... . This sled was always a over achiever but now has a new 1.25 Ripsaw with no studs and can not hook like it use to. My 05 Rx 1 drives away from it. Second one is a 98 SRX with a Max Perf 780 BB. It has a Viper 136 Mt rear skid with a 1.5 padle track. No traction rods, NO HOOK, I drive right away from this sled also. The Max Perf 780 has been a reliable sled but does not make good power. Last SRX is a 2000 that is basicly stock. It has 192 studs, no traction rods, stock track. My friend just bought it two days ago. I was excited to see how this sled runs. When we got out to the field today and the snow had started to soften up a little so the traction was in my favor with the Ripsaw track. We run one race from a hole shot. I left him bad and by 85 mph I had 10 sleds on him. Next race we did a 20 mph roll on. I told him just to hit it and I would go. I would loose about a sled on the start and had about 5 sled lead at the end of a short field. I think with good hard pack the last SRX would be a lot closer. We are going to install traction rods and a good HC clutch set up and run again. I think it will be a lot closer.
What has everyone else experience been with SRX's?
Always fun to line them up. My friend wants to sell his really clean 2000 SRX now. He road my sled and wanta a 4 stroke. We will make the changes and it should make him a little more happy.

If you look in the two stroke side, there is a bunch of info on the SRXs.

I had a 2002 srx that would beat my buddies 03 rx1 all the time, A well setup srx will be very hard to beat!

SRXs have all the qualities for speed, a low suspension with minimal travel, good power and a low profile track. Put a long travel suspension and your speed drops considerably. Throw on a ripsaw track or any deeper lug track and your speed drops considerably again. Hard to have your cake and eat it to with the SRX. Still a good sled and I’m keeping mine.

Yea tell me about I went from the no-action to the mono and lost 7 mph, My SRX will kick myRX-1s A$$ 2 out of 3 runs in short runs, 1000ft radar run srx beats rx by 10 mph, long lake run is a whole differnt story RX leaves SRX in the dust.RX rides better but the SRX is alot more fun to ride

After reviewing post from both the 4 stroke and SRX site it think it comes back the the old addage of who ever is tuned right. I have raced some 4 stroke sleds that I beat just as bad as this SRX. Set up is the key. Then after you get you sled clutched right then you better have the traction to hook it up. I am sure that I will run into a well set up 4 stoke or SRX that will smoke me. Its all fun.

True but you had to use the spray and a turbo to do it...wantboost said:ask him who beats him now all the timesrxguy said:I had a 2002 srx that would beat my buddies 03 rx1 all the time, A well setup srx will be very hard to beat!![]()
