Just a quick question about removing my secondary on my 08 Nytro. Taking the clutch off to clean and grease the bearing behind it.
Is it okay to use the impact on wrench secondary nut?

nut
I didn't ....I just used a socket and breaker bar...I grabbed the brake and it stopped the secondary from turning....There is not alot of torque on the bolt...

Re: nut
X2, parking brake and I grabbed the brake leaver. You should not need an impact wrench.
Torque it to 46 Ft lbs when you are done.

Re: clutch
I would, at the same time check all the clutch components while you are in there.

Re: 2nd
Basically only have to remove the 3 nuts to take off the spring set. Make sure you keep pushing down on the spring set to keep it from flying off.
Once you have the bolts remove and carefully released the pressure on the spring the rest just comes apart.
You will want to wash everything with dish soap and hot water. Check the conditions of the buttons/ramps, spring, and the sheaves them selves.
Now to assemble it:
1. Place the movable/sliding sheave face up. (The sheave with the 3 posts sticking up)
2. Place the fixed sheave on top of that.
3. Place the spring
- For models FX10/FX10RT/FX10RTR/FX10RTRA the stock spring position is in 2-6
- For models FX10MT/FX10MTR/FX10MTRA the stock spring position is 1-6
4. Place the spring set.
5. This is where an extra set of hands come in handy.
Have someone hold the moveable/sliding sheave. Twist the fixed sheave counterclockwise while holding the spring set:
-80 degrees for FX10/FX10RT/FX10RTR/FX10RTRA models
-70 degrees for FX10MT/FX10MTR/FX10MTRA models
6. Push down on the spring set until the bolts come up through the holes and while pushing down on the spring set put the nuts back on and torque to 17 FT LB.
One trick I have learned is to leave the clutch on the sled and remove the 3 nuts while it is on the sled. Same with assembly.
