Sagging Rear Suspension

Hey guys, I've just started putting my sled ready for the season. I've changed my slides, greased the suspension, adjusted the track. After all that, I noticed that the rear suspension sags about 2-3 inches. I've read here before this is due to a bent piece in the suspension. Can someone tell me which piece it is again, or help identify it with a picture.

Can you simply straighten the rod/bar or do you need to purchase a new one? If it must be purchased, anyone know the cost?

Thanks,
Steve

I think the part you are talking about is the rear link, They will not replace it untill you break it, as for the sag it might be the rear torsion springs.

if 2-3 inches of sag is all you have you should be fine, the phazer is actually supposed to sag, go check a new one at a dealer and you should find reletivly the same amount of sag.

Either way I would guess. I think it will break before it bends. I broke mine and it was the first one the dealer had seen.

you broke it?! what the hell? i've never herd of them actually breaking, just kinda tweaking slightly.

Guys,

The link is not broken. I broke it once in 2007 but not again since then. I just remember reading that the sag might be cause by a bent rod that the link is mounted on. I never had much sag until late last year.

Check the linkage. I just finished getting my sleds ready for the Christmas week snowmobile vacation we always take and when I was finishing up the Phazer and going to grease all the joints I noticed 2 cracks. Well the tube that the linkage bolts too is cracked on both weld points. Needless to say 3 days before vacation isn't the time that i wanted to notice this but I guess it is better now notice in the garage rather than on the side of a trail in the middle of a snow storm. I will see if I can take pics but make sure you check your suspension right near the linkage.
