Seat cover cracking

I have 4800 miles on my Nytro and the seat cover is cracking already. There are two rips on my seat. One is right at the front next to the tank, and the other is on the left side. The cracks seem to happen where the seat cover wrinkles up. Just wondering if anyone else having the same problem. Its sucks for me that my waranty ran out, so any replacement cover will be out of pocket.

Mine has about 3 cracks on each side. Told dealer about it and they said they will probably warranty it and told me to bring it in and they will take a picture as well. Only have about 2900 km's on it.

Mine has cracking as well.

Sled is 07 VL and has been stored inside since day 1.
I noticed 2 or 3 cracks last year near the front edges of the seat perpendicular to the seam, but this year there are 5 or 6 on one side and 3 or 4 on the other. Took the seat off last week and bought it to the dealer. They took pictures and told me they haven't seen this before (sound familiar?).
Since the warranty on seat covers is only 1 year, they said there's not much they could do. I called customer service, but the same response ... whistle dixie!!
I could see if I was standing or kneeling on the seat, but I have not. Cover should not break down this eaisly (less than 3 years).

Anyways, I took the vinyl repair goop and came to it. At least it's waterproof now.

Ya mine is too i but on the the aftermarket yamaha seat cover you can buy from yamaha its all black it looks awesome but first right in cold cold weather it crackd right in the middle just below the tank not to happy about it either

Mine ripped on a wrinkle a few week's ago. It was a very cold weekend. They covered under warranty.

Mine is getting all sorts of little rips. Mostly on the very back edge. I just busted out some shoe goo as to put a stop to bigger tears. Figure eventually I'll have to cover it or replace it. Especially since my warrenty is up.

no rips...but sagging cover

800km on my 09 and I notice that the seat cover stays wrinkeld on the sides in the colder weather. I am sure it will be prone to cracking as well. Is the foam in the seat shrinking or what?? Seems strange that the cover would stretch in the cold.

The seat on my 1997 ZR hasnt wrinkled or cracked...???

DUDE U HAVE 4800 MILES I WOULDNT SAY ITS CRACKING ALLREADY????? THATS ALOT OF ABUSE DUDE

The only sled that I have owned that had cracking issues on its seat were like 15 years old at the time. To me, seat cracking in less than 5 years time is unacceptable.

Funny, I had over 6,000 miles in 3 years on my Ol' F7 and the seat looked the same as the day I bought it. I ride my Nytro the same as I did my F7. I'd say my riding is 70-80% standing on my Nytro, so my seat dosen't get abused like you claim I'm doing to it. I think once you start seeing Nytro's with my kind of miles, you'll start noticing more guys bitching about the seats cracking. Cripe Sakes!!!!! Its friggin vinyl, which we all know is prone to cracking in cold weather. Ever owned a vehicle that had vinyl seats?? Probably Not, or you'll know what I'm talking about.

My 03 Firecrap had more miles than that in 2 years and did nothing but fall apart and blow up.(3 seat covers) I had to give it away! My Nytro has about 4300 to date and I can see there will be a seat problem but thats what warranties are for
