I'm having a new seat cover put on soon. Has anybody added foam when doing this? I want to raise my seat height a bit and add a little bit of extra padding as well. Any idea on what to use?

No ideas yet, I have a new cover as well. I plan on doing a dissection of the seat soon. I believe there is a semi-rigid layer not too far down in the seat.

I would like to add padding too, but Yamaha is fixing mine in the near future, so it looks like it will be the same for me.

If your seat cover cracks, do not let Yamaha get away with changing only the seat cover. Tell them to change the whole seat to a '04 seat. My dealer is trying to get Yamaha to cover both seat and cover under warranty, getting me a '04 seat. The reason for this is that the current cover is leaking and my seat is full of water. At low temps this water freezes and the seat cover will crack all over again. I claimed that both seat and cover should be covered under warranty since only changing the cover would not help me out. Problem will return when the right conditions occurs. I've found that seat will freeze up and crack when riding in powder and temps are below -15 C or 5 F.
