Is the seat foam (or whatever material they use) on the Apex/Attak sleds more firm than previous years?
Maybe it's just me but my a** gets sore after a 150 mile ride on decent trails-never a problem on other sleds. Only thing I can think of is the seat.
Anyone else experience this?

I think the firmness is fine, but a little on the narrow side for some.
Same here! I think it's because of the rider forward position. After 150 miles or so, I find myself very uncomfortable and must change position.
I will probably get use to it...

This is not a complaint but a compliment to the seat if you can go 150 miles then have to change positions.

Will the seat "break in"
I only have 500 miles on the sled, will the seat get "broke in" over time and be somewhat softer? Maybe I get a sore back side from the narrow shape of the seat?
I just never experienced a problem like this before and concerned how a multi day ride will be.

I know the soreness you speak off. A little Gold Bond powder sprinkled where the sun dont shine will help. It works just as powdery snow helps your Hyfax!
I get sore knees after long rides too, but I dont think the sled is to blame. Just age and awkwardly long legs.
But the hand issue I can sympathize with. I have noticed my Attak is controlled all with the hands and fore arms. Nothing wrong with that, just muscles at rest in the off season getting a rude awakening.
Think Snow!

I too get a soar #*$&@ along with the pinky palm part of my hands after about 150 miles..........but I've learned that when my tail bone starts to get soar...I just pull over and stop for about 15 - 20 & walk around. After a nice little rest........my #*$&@ is all better and ready to go another 150
I must admit though..........I could ride this sled all.....day.....long........and still be able to ride just as far the next day. Not like on my old SRX or Viper!!!......150 miles and you were spent and damn near ruined for the next day's ride!! Plus the over 40 thing doesn't seem to help either!!
But all joking aside.......this is by far the most comfortable sled I have ever ridden. I find it hard to stop riding it! I'm now wearing out friends that before......could never ride enough!!
I just love my Attak!!

I agree with Quad , i can remember some crippiling rides on my Viper,03 RX1, i can ride my Apex all day and be in great shape for another ride the next day,i think slowin down on the sauce after the ride also helped.
Thanks Yamaha i may have a couple of extra years left to go before the lil Rascal and bedside comode and the Oxygen tank!
