Yes, i finally did It took almost a full month to get a new unit. I was very fortunate in that the original owner appears to have already had one installed so i did not have to drill any of the holes for the mounting rails. It is a tight fit and you will need extenders on sockets to get at it.
Some general comments:
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
Cheers,
Some general comments:
- I am a little disappointed in the quality of it. For the price they cost, i found the rear cushion mount is a bit weak (It's just 3 screws that go through the support bar and screw directly into the back of the cushion. Just seems very flimsy.
- It does sit well on the Apex BUT because of the height of my son, his feet do not touch the side boards on the sled. Just a few inches too short. He also has to slouch a bit to hold on to the handle grips. I don't know if there are extenders or not (Haven't had time to research...).
- BUT, he just loved coming out with me. I only wish the horribly cold weather would break so we can get out and enjoy the snow moreso....
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to put mine on this weekend when it is a bit warmer. I am sure I will PM you with a few questions. Did you have to cut or loosen the muffler shrouds, or the black plastic trim

Please don't be offended but your sled is like show room condition. I'm rather jealous. Mine looks like a ghetto sled next to yours.Apex 55 , yes it has been outside. I am a newbie and I just bought the Jack Seat from Royal Distributing and I am expecting it soon. Can anybody tell me how long it took to do the job from start to finish? Also does the seat come with install instructions?
Thanks in advance

I see you are on an 07 short track so you may still have to remove the seat I bought mine used with no instructions it was quite easy to do.

So I might or may not need to remove the seat... I guess Yamyrider and I will tackle the task on hand once I get the seat which should be tomorrow. I will update the thread with the results and pics.I see you are on an 07 short track so you may still have to remove the seat I bought mine used with no instructions it was quite easy to do.

My GT came with the seat, so I can't comment on the installation.
If I were starting from scratch, I'd space it a bit higher off the tunnel. My exhaust housings on the 07 are worn from contact. 1/4" stock would do it.
On the product, Diane is just fine sitting on the jack seat.
We test drove a Venture this weekend, and she prefers the jack seat on the apex.
Visibility, comfort, and foot position were all better.

well here is my take on the 2006 Apex with the new Kimpex seatjack, after hearing about the issues with the long reach to the passenger grab bars i decided to go with the new style seatjack, but because my seat is 5" taller than stock and having the chop into the exhaust covers and also having to extend the bracket to meet the taller position was a bit of a challenge but doable, the new style has adjustable hand grabs and they also offer heated grips and plug in for helmet shield. The cost was $675 dollars and if you factor in what a new 2up sled runs for it was a no brainier, also my suspension was setup for me when i was over 450# so now i am 240# the weight of the passenger isn't an issue. Had to come up with a temp cover for the exhaust when the seat is removed, here is the Apex
This is the new style Kimpex seatjack
This is the brackets mounted to the tunnel before modifying them to fit the taller seat height
Here is the seat bracket modifyied to fit the taller seat
Had to chop up the exhaust covers to fit my 2006 Apex as this style is for 2011 and up Apex models
You can see alot of cover material needed to be removed to allow the seat to be mounted
Made a custom rubber cover that i mounted edge screw clips for a clean install when not using the seatjack
This is a close up of the rear mounting bracket that allows a no tool install before I had a chance to mount the rear bracket location
