I have squealing on my Vector at idle after it was serviced at the shop. Not sure if they switched my belt or something (it was 2 year ago)

I have done a bunch of searching and it seems that the solution is to remove some shims from the 3 bolts on the secondary clutch.

Does anyone have instruction on how to do this and where these bolts are? thanks

I have been through all this with my sled and my dealer and we decided a different belt was in order. I now use the Carlisle Ultimax 3 #138-4432-U3 belt. There are other belts out there that are also good replacements for the 8DN belt. All the squeeling has long since gone.

I had that problem last year, it's a really simple fix. After removing the belt, simply remove the secondary clutch, keep track of how the washers are spaced on the back side. Once you have it off, you'll find 3 small bolts on the back side, one at a time, remove a bolt and then remove a washer (he actually told me you could remove all of them, but I think I only removed one on each), do this to all three bolts. What happens is, the bolts actually press against the other half of the clutch and hold it open slightly which stops the squealing. You may notice a mile or two difference in top end, but the squealing should go away. Hope this helps. John

How do I remove the secondary clutch?
Very easy, I usually set the parking break and simply remove the single bolt in the middle of the clutch and slide it off, that's it.

I have never done it I will give it a shot
Just remember that as you slide off the clutch, keep track of the spacers/washers that are located on the main shaft of the clutch and reinstall them the same way as they came off. Its really not difficult, you can use the tools supplied in the kit, you'll only need 2 wrenches, don't know the sizes off the top of my head. Good luck. John
