secondary bushing wear spec

What is the max spec wear on those secondary bushing?
I can't seam to find it in shop manual.

Measure the shaft on secondary with caliper at 1.495" back inside bushing is 1.505" and helix bushing is 1.502"

So 0.010" of play in back and 0.007 in helix.
 
The best indication of them out of spec is when it starts to bind or nor back shift after hard braking coming in to a corner then your sled BOGS cuz of it not backshifting, mine started doing it around 13.000kms on my '05 RX1...a f'n job to get them out but not so bad to re-install them...costly to replace! if I remember correctly around $100.00 Cnd for both bushings.
 
They are high price,call the dealer today and 36.95$ for ea bushing in secondary that mean 36.95 x2 and 39.95$ for bushing in primary cover.

The sled is running fine but lot of free play.

How did you get them out? shop press?

and did you put green loctite when reassemble?

primary 12.$$

I just can't believe the price difference From US to Canada....3X the price for primary bushing in Canada.How can they justified that enormous difference?
 
Made myself a PUNCH that sits right on edge of bushing same diameter and a shoulder that fits tight inside bushing, set it on a vice and punched it out...to re-install use the HOT & COLD method, re-assembled everything DRY fit. I personaly wouldn't use a press, if your not dead on you could SCORE or damage aluminum seating area when pressing in new bushing, its a SLOW but sure proceedure.
 
How do you removing secondary clutch bushing?

I have used a hack saw blade to cut through the bushing till almost thru, than take a punch and peel/knock out the old bushing. Works like a charm.

That is great! my father just told me that trick today.

And to put it back in put the bushing in the freezer and sheave in the oven at 200 F and it should be easy.

Another member told me to sand the outside of the bushing with rough sand paper and put green loctite to prevent bushing from sliding back on the sheave.

I wouldn't do that! just go the HOT & FREEZE way...it works.
