secondary windage plate

I noticed on my 04 there no windage plate on the seconday, I was wondering if the 03 didn't have 1 also. All my other sleds had 1 and was wondering why yamaha took them off and would there be a performance gain buy adding 1. I"m guessing they took it off for clutch cooling but is clutch temp a issue on these sleds. Srx had one. :?:

I took them off my 96 xt, no need for them as far as I'm concerned. They weigh about a pound, by by

You might gain a mph or 2 with the plates on but the fins on the secondary will help keep the clutches cooler.
