With the rapid approach of winter but no riding yet it is full blown hyperbole season, the keyboard jockeys are in overdrive.
My go to forum for a fix of sled related info or humour has been TY for many years. Most of the time good info and minimal sniping and BS.
That being said my second favourite forum is the one devoted to the made in Canada brand of sleds and marketing leader.
Human nature being what it is we are all prone to heap scorn on things we are jealous of or are threatened by.
There has been some interesting reading on DT for those of us that have tamed the greased turbo buffalo spine grinders that we call sleds.
Best I understand from DT our winders weigh 900 lbs wet, or maybe 35lbs more than a 900t in reality!
Doo chassis holds lots of ice and snow so probably a wash when your actually riding it rather than BSing about it.
Our sleds handle so poorly they can’t understand how you get around the first corner, I personally tamed my greased buffalo with Dans ski recommendation much to the chagrin of my Atype buds on their never more than a year old xrs doos. They read doo talk and faithfully watch skidootrax on tv and can’t understand why I have to wait for them whenever I ride first, when I’m in the pack the tippy canoe gen4 chassis dynamics set the pace, winder on a breakaway no comparison boys.
Our Chinese junk sleds have crappy plastic idler wheels? Really? Vs the steel ones skidoo’s have? Wow that was a brilliant dig.
We have the fastest easy to make insanely fast sleds ever made. They still refer to sledding as a sport nearest I remember so I understand where the cheap digs and scorn come from. Being a sport competition is part of the equation, there is no competition for the yamacat on the market or horizon. 50 yr old trail rider part of the sport that is, I wouldn’t try to tree ride a winder I personally like the Polaris chassis best for that type of riding.
If you end up on doo talk and wondering where the anger all comes from remember the immortal words of Enzo Ferrari:
What’s behind you doesn’t matter
Second is the first of the losers

Wow,well said brother,i have had no reason to go to doo talk, but we all want to think our ride is the best, dont we. But I have to agree with you,i have had no problem passing groups of newer doo,s,and when one of them breaks off to chase me,they never last long, and I have yet to have one pass me,on trail or lake.

I bought a Doo 600 SDI many years ago, and at that time I used Dootalk for what was much needed technical insight on that very problematic sled. Needless to say, I was first disappointed by the sled and then the tech info available on that site when compared to what we have here on TY. They should be jealous or would be jealous if they frequented this site for whatever reasons! Outstanding job by all who make this site happen, and that is an understatement.

I have not been there since, so maybe they have a better site now, but I doubt they can Better TY. As for their sleds, there are a couple of 4 stroke models that I have considered, and for the off trail or mountain types, those non reliable 2 stokes are light. So good for them and rest assured that I will not visit that site to bash them!!

DT is certainly much more full of kool-aid drinkers then any other forum. I find that the younger crowd who is brand loyal loves to throw out things like "I would never own a Cat/Yamaha" ect....as soon as I read that statement, I disregard any posts from that person.

I think over here we are an older group, more after performance and dont mind fixing the issues we all have uncovered to have the highest performing sled avail. Where the 900t crowd is more about riding without wrenching and just want to do a trip and not open there hood. Nothing wrong with that, but for me it comes down to compromise. I feel there is a compromise riding the 900t in the throttle. Sure its nowhere near the power the 998 has, but that is not the issue for me, its the throttle. Mostly cause so many have convinced themselves that 900t throttle is not an issue. Well if you jump on ANY OTHER SLED with normal throttle, its instantly noticed. And the main discussion on every 900t review. So getting used to that iTC issue is not the same as it being a NON issue.

DOO does many things well, but there is a ton that is never mentioned by the DT followers that is far from perfect, and ya gotta love when Knapp chimes in over there to give a dose of reality.

Dont really care what they do on dootalk.
