Sell me on a Viper

Thanks Cannondale
I got the cat seat kit for my 129 sled. Cannondale is right - There's the seat, a bumper for the seat, and footrests for the running boards. You can purchase heated grips for it separately, which is plug n play. The kit works really well. My son and my wife have both ridden on it and it works great. The seat has hand guards on it, and the heated grips work really well. I even let my wife drive for a bit while I road on the back. It's really quite comfy. However, the seat doesn't go on/off super quick like some aftermarket stuff. But I can do it in about 5 mins. I have no experience with the aftermarket kits, but you can tell the cat setup was specifically design for the sled and everything fits/works like it is supposed to.

Funny how all these discussions turn to a "war" between 2 and 4 stroke, where we Yamaha guys buy it - mainly - for the 4 stroke reliability, and the believed Yamaha quality. We sacrifice weight and ride comfort because the 4 stroke is bulletproof.
I've been a Yamaha guy all my life, and wouldn't be buying anything else. I had a '95 AC Thunder Cat which I bought brand new. The quality was crap and I traded it the year after for a Vmax 600 ST, the last year with the TTS front suspension.
I thought 4 strokes in a sled was a joke until Yamaha came out with the RX1, and wanted one ever since.
I bought a second hand '06 RS Vector Mountain in 2010 from a friend and was looking forward to the 4 stroke reliability. Midway through the second winter I had it, in 2011, the engine broke, so much so the dealer said its no point in rebuilding it, so I had to buy a new engine (obviously a used one). I kept the Vector for the reminder of the season and traded it for a Nytro XTX the next season.
Long story short, discussing sleds, and in particular the 2 vs 4 stroke, with my friends, I have absolutely no argument any longer for the 4 stroke reliability, since I'm the only one who have needed to replace an engine. And believe me, my friends are quick to remind me!
So why am I still on a Yamaha, instead of the new and lighter, better handling 2 strokes? Because I'm a Yamaha guy!

Was is the fault of the motor or did a drive bearing go taking out the motor?

No idea. These engines had an issue with the cam chain tensioner, but according to the dealer this wasn't the issue on my engine. So no idea. I even talked to the Yamaha importer in Norway and they wouldn't cover it under warranty because the cam chain tensioner was suppose to be fixed on the '06 models.
It's out of sight so out of mind now ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the klimpex. It looks to be pretty good quality so I may go with that. 2up won't be often but my wife and daughter do ride on occasion. Wife rides her sled but that seat would work out great for the daughter.

I just switched from a 2011 assault and 2014 assault all I can say is I'm glad I did I was sick of seeing my sled with out a motor in it there a ticking time bomb for the 800 Polaris motors

What ski is on the 2016 LTX SE? I've seen walk around videos and they clearly look like the Yamaha tuner ski. Then I've look at dealer stock pics and they look like a cat ski with color matching ski tip. Confused...

I knew the LE has the tuner III's I believe and think the reg SE has the II's. I'm just trying to determine to take the tuners off my nytro before selling to put on my viper or put them on the phazer in my fleet. Pics and videos of the SE are not matching up.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I just put a set of Curve's on mine.

Tuner Skis: One piece molded=Tuner 2. Two piece (ski and loop)=Tuner 3. The website pics are still different - it shows the Tuner 2 and my '16 LTX-LE has Tuner 3.
