I am installing an AEM Air/fuel gauge on a Bender 2 rear mount. There was a stoich mounted before the turbo but I have been told to mount the new sensor beyond the turbo. I have seen pictures on here in the past but can not find anything in a search now.
Anyone remember what post or have info as to where the best place to weld it on?
I am thinking on the inside of the bend as the exhaust pipe leaves the turbo - at a 10 degree angle up. Is there any detriment to moutning it that close to the turbo?
Does that make the most sense? I don't know where else I really can do it other than on the outside of the bend but then it will hit plastic.

I mounted my AEM sensor in the outlet pipe from the turbo outlet flange to my FPP dual outlet muffer. There is too much backpressure in the inlet to the turbo...
Angled mine up a little and back so that it extends back along the cone and not directly at it at a 90 deg angle...
Unfortunately I just poisoned my sensor running straight race fuel, lasted 2 tank fulls...

Mbaryy, I was under the impression that race fuel shouldn't affect these like it does the stoich? OR maybe 50/50 wouldn't? One reason I went to the wideband is because my stoich would stop working after 10 mins of 50/50 mix use. - and it is less accurate.
Bigdog - problem with that is it is angling down - if you angle it up 10degrees (recommended to keep moisture out ) than it hits the plastic shroud.
Maybe that is not a big deal? How important is it to have it angles up 10 degrees?

They recommend having a + angle to prevent moisture from getting trapped. Before you start the machine, let the o2 sensor come up to temp then the moisture won't collect in it.
I don't care what sensor you have, the lead in race fuel coats the porous ceramic sensor and prevents it from sensing the oxygen.

I agree with trying to angle it up. But the last three years I ran straight 100 LL avgas. This year I have been running 50/50 112 Sunoco and 93 Sunoco.
So the leaded gas will probably kill it faster than the moisture problem.
