Where did you all find your sevice manuals for the rx-1's? I have searched and can't find a single company that has four-stroke service manuals for sleds. I will want one for my RTX when they become available.

You should be able to get the OEM manual for any Yamaha snowmobile from any Yamaha dealer. They retail for $60. Currently the Apex models are using the 05 RX-1 manual and then need an additional supplement ($25) to cover the new stuff on the Apex sleds. I expect in the future we will be able to hopefully get an Apex only manual as there is definitely alot of new stuff on the Apex's. As far as aftermarket manuals go I have never seen any offered. If anyone is interested in a manual feel free to give us a call. Thanks

Nothing available on disk yet that I know of - Sorry - they started doing that on alot of the top of the line models back between 02-03 but rarely do it anymore.

Okay, thanks alot for the info. I have always baught sevice/repair manuals for everything I have ever baught. Sleds, cars, boats. I'm going to feel helpless with out one for my new toy. I will check out the Yamaha site, other wise I will get a hold of you, Port.

I bet they noticed that everyone was pirating them.

That's most likely a big part of the equation. Another factor is that now almost all dealers can view this information online through Yamaha's dealer system so it is almost unnecessary to have a paper manual or cd version around as we now can view it online through their system.

Is it safe to assume that this manual you can get is the actual machanics manual? I mean, this isn't the clymers edition like the one for yamaha triples from 1997-2002. This is the that manual that is about 3 inches thick?
Port, let me know what kind of manual this is, I'll probably get one through you. Like I said before, I have to have a manual for everything I own.

The actual factory manual for my vmax hpdi outboard is 1" thick, and half of that is french. Clymers is dummed down and expanded to be understood by non-mechanics. They leave out the details, but make it easy to read and understand.

My copy of the RX1 manual is precisely 1cm thick plastic. I don't know how that converts to paper
