Just use a dental pick or similar on the seal facing the outside (what you can see). Carefully get under the outer lip or inner lip and pry it out a bit at a time while working your way around the circumference. If you bend the seal at all, simply put it on the cement floor or the anvil portion of your vise and gently tap it flat with a hammer.
I always stuff the bearing with grease and work it in with my finger while turning the track (both jackshaft bearing and speedo). When you reinstall the seal, the action of putting it back into place will force the grease into all the rollers. Make sure the entire seal is flush as it was prior to removing.
Been doing this for several years and my bearings are always happy.

Sled dog, Better take a look see. It's alot easier to fix in your garage, than out on the trail! I'll bet the greese is gone, dried up, and rusted inside those bearings! Take a look, won't cost you anything, except maybe breacking down a hundred miles from home, won't that be a great day?or night? Hope ya carry a cell phone, your on borrowed time! Honk
