How much do you weigh. At the bottom of the collar that holds the spring adjuster ramp there is a small dia. steel clip that holds that collar in place. The spring preload can be adjusted by removing the spring and raising that clip. There are a couple of positions to move it to. I removed the skid to adjust it, unless there is another way to compress the spring while it is in the sled. I haven't tried the sled yet with the new setting but will try today. My buddy says that his is better with the higher spring preload setting.

you have to take the shock out to move the clip i took mine out and had dealer move it to the 3rd clip very easy to take shock out

How did you get your shock out? did you remove the skid first or did you do it in place? Where did you set the adjuster when you removed the shock? How much do you weigh and how is it at that setting? I set mine on the second clip to try it, I weigh 250 suited up.
xr700 i would take it back out and have it put on the 3rd clip i took mine out in the skid very easy take the front bolt off of the transfer rod and then just take the back and front bolts off the shock.pull the little boot back on the RA and loosen up the round pice with a pair of pliers dont turn the remote adjuster when the shock is out when you put back in put the back bolt in first then the front one you might want to get a jack and jack up on the front of the skid to get the bolt lined up.remember you have the spring preload to you can ajust. just have the back end of the sled off the ground much easier and you have the remote adjuster to, you can do a lot with the suspension oh don't forget to put the bolt back in for th transfer rod

If you have a bearing spreader and some coil spring compressors it can be done on the sled.
It takes about 10-15 minutes on the sled (if you're lucky enough to have the tools) or about 45 minutes to do it by re and re'ing the suspension and unbolting the shock (you still need a spring compressor and you have to make sure you don't damage the shock - most standard spring compressors will damage it if you don't use a bearing spreader or something), followed by checking track tension, etc.
Here is a picture with the tools installed without taking the skid out. In the picture you can see the c-clip & grooves and you can move the clip with just your hand (the clip is in the lowest position (on left) and I'm about to move it to the middle position):
