Here's my situation - I bought a 2008 Phazer GT late last year with 3000 miles on it. Believe it or not, I was able to ride it this past season and I noticed a whining/whirring noise coming from one of the sheeves. I believe it is coming from the secondary sheeve and it only makes the noise just as I am coming to a stop. The noise stops as soon as I hit the brake. It has done this since I bought it and am wondering if it is a normal noise or some sheeve service is needed. Thanks in advance for any advice.

you'll have to check the freeplay (in/out) movement & check the 3 buttons or ramps inside to sheave. also where does your belt sit in the secondary?

I do not have an exact measurement of the secondary in/out movement but would guess it is around 0.070 inches. The buttons inside (on the ramps) are not worn out from what I can see - I have not had it apart. The top of my belt is sitting right at the top of the sheeve - the additional spacer (for a total of three) has been added in between the sheeve. Does yours make any noise under the conditions I described? Thanks!!!!

Sure it's not coming from the jackshaft bearing?
