Shims under rubber stopper on ski's

I have a new 2015 Vector LTX & I am wondering is it still necessary to install shims under the rubber stopper on the ski's. The ski's on this sled are Tuner ski's. On all of my other yamaha's I have always installed shims under the rubber stoppers but they had the standard ski.
