I gather that you are in the U.S. then?
If you ship it via USPS, there are no brokerage fees. And it is my understanding that snowmobile parts are exempt from the duty fee.
Come to think of it, are you selling this part that you are shipping?

you pay brokerage fees any way you get it shipped in. usps is the cheapest and is usually as fast as the others.

Fed ex is/was pretty good. I have not recieved anything for a while but any charges were minimal.

Don't ship via Fed Ex. Use the U.S. Postal Service. Fed Ex has an extremely efficient Customs process and it seems like I always get a duty slip to pay money when people send things Fed Ex. The US Postal Service is much better.

If you ship air It comes much faster and the fee's are already applied to the total but it costs more. I ship all things USPS. Have them change the price to about 10% of the real total as you will only be taxed on that amount. When I receice stuff from US that is new I pay both taxes and a $5 handling fee.

We've began shipping things Fedex International Ground now to Canada. It ususally costs $15-20 depending on the size and takes 5-7 business days at the most so far with a tracking system, etc. With USPS there is no way to track it, takes 10-15 business days if not longer (was around 4 weeks lately). I can't tell you how the brokerage or duty/tax fees are compared to one another, but Fedex has been alot better to deal with for us as a business as we can tell the customer exactly where the package is.

USPS also offers tracking but not on their cheap cheap service but they do take twice as long as UPS or FedEx Ground. USPS is great Canada post is the bottleneck took 4 daaays for a package to move i mile from the Totonto airport to the Missisauga sort center which is a mile away and very common for it to take this long plus Canada Post is terrible about updating the tracking information. It is just one big conspiracy to stop us from buying from the states

Bought some parts from South Seattle Sports Plaza just before Christmas. They shipped it USPS and I got it in 10 days during the Christmas rush. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I paid exchange plus GST plus a five dollar handling fee. That's it. What a deal. Attak custom cover $262.95 from my dealer...less than $150 shipped to my door.
Needless to say I just ordered some a-arms from them last week. I will also order the plastic I require, after hitting a deer, from them as well.
