My 15 xtx se rear shock just blew. Just ordered a 16 mtx coil over shock. How is this one compared to the air over oil and nitrogen shock I had?
Are they both 16 inch eye to eye?
Are they both 16 inch eye to eye?

Not 100% sure but they could be different lengths. I know Cat/Yamaha made some rail changes in 2016 and the shock transfer link rod are different part numbers. Your shock still may work though if it's close enough in length to your old shock.

Should be the same length, the rear arms and locations are the same on the 141/153/162 skids. The center is different though on 14-15 XTX but the 16+ XTX moved the center shock to MTX spec. I tried a 15' MTX coil over in my XTX and it was a pretty good improvement, had to give it back though but I do plan on ditching the float soon.

I took the float off my MTX and switched to OEM coil over and noticed a huge improvement also. $150 for the shock, spring and keeper from AC.
