I have a 08 Nytro MTX 180mcx
Stock helix ( 39 degrees )
Mcx 180 weights
Stock springs
What benefits do i get with a Shockwave helix. I ride in powder/hills.
I see that Shockwave only adjust from 42 to 58 degrees, seems strange when I have 39 degrees originally ?
Thanks

Bump..
I am also curious about this.. We had a long talk over the phone the other night to try to come to some sense regarding this.
None of us are clutching experts, (thats for sure..) but as the shockwave helix is adjustable from 42 to 58 degrees I can not see that it will help me in any way?
The original MTX helix is 39 degrees in Europe, which works pretty damn good with the pink spring, and the mcx weights.
My RTX has the 43 degree helix, which dont work as well as the MTX - at all.
And looking through the part catalouges i realized that the only difference between our sleds is
- 39 vs 42 degree helix
- secondary spring
- 16.5 vs 15.6 clutch rollers
So when we add this together my sled should work better with the 39 degree helix because my problem is that it doesnt backshift good enough in the steep n deep.
I have been told that a shockwave is the answer to my prayers -
but i seriously can't understand what good it could possibly do me..
As it seems I want a lower helix angle? and not a steeper one as the shockwave?
Any info much appreciated. This is getting really interesting.
