As i read through out these posts and see the disappointment, i ask myself. What if a TY/SpeedShop/Simons CPR/???? crew entered the Shootout next year. It takes $750.00 +/- and some dedicated non-paid tuners to bring a team together and run at this event. I know that many of us would have to travel a long distance, take off work, and be away for a few days from our families. But, I guarantee we would kick some but and have A LOT of fun…

We could enter the ‘Aftermarket’ class. This class is just like D&D, Bender, Dynoport, etc.

This concept is based on customers of Yamaha. Not based on some dealers location...

We could Run one or more sleds on this list...
- 'Stock/Aftermarket' Prepped RX1 or Warrior
- Imp-Stock/Aftermarket Prepped Viper (If it is around next year...???)
- The new 4-Stroker that is coming out.
- Turbo RX1/Warrior
- ?????

So, I'm asking you... The members of TY...
Would/Should we put a team together?

Please post here what you think???

I'm not pissed at all. This just makes showing my tail-lite to the Doo-Doos and A/C's on the lake that much more fun!
(Damn F7's are fast thought)

Buster696 I think that it would be an excellent way to show off the tunners talent from this site. There are alot of members here that spend countless hours on tuning and post thier results to us to help make all of our sleds run better. If a team could be put together to show off some of this talent then that would be even better. I have followed from almost the begining of this site and have learned alot but I am not a tunner. It's not in my blood but those that have the skills to do this go for it and those that do not have the talent and maybe want to contribute to a team with ??? donations like money or ???? rides to the events or???. The only thing is that we have soooo many tuners who would get to go???? and to what events??? and will it be a team from Canada and USA or USA and Canada??? Lots to think about.

I think we should have Team Canada and Team USA just for a little fun between ourselves  count me in for a contribution this site has some great talent (not me  ) that deserves to show their stuff. Mr Sled since they would be representing TY.COM i think a really LARGE contribution from you personally would be in order  We could take a POLL and the guys that get the most votes could be our rep's

I'm just a rider, not a tuner, but I'm pretty enthusiastic about this idea! I believe it would be a very good promotional tool for all those that do tune these sleds! You never know where it might go! I'm sure that Yamaha will notice! And you never know what could come of it? I SAY GO FOR IT :D

Guess what, the other brands have tuners also. How come you super tuners weren't winning improved class at the grass drags. I don't remember Hackers, and Hauk winning improved stok with an RX1.

I'm very happy with the RX1 in the shoot-out.

Bring your tuned sleds to the radar runs this winter, instead of saying I beat Bubba's modified Dand D, ZR1200 in uncle Joe's corn field.

After reading several posts on shoot-outs I am getting the feeling that some people on this form feel that some of use who posted private testing results aren't being totally honest. I know I am and any one can bring on sleds to compare with mine the way I did. I am not saying mine is the fastest warrioor around but my two warriors were almost identical in performance and still are. I have only done a minimal amount of tweaking yet I feel the stock warrior will not be embarased by any stock sled.

I am only a trail rider who does his own work so to be better equipted to handle trail situations. If any thing I would have a loyalty to Polaris due to my own past experiences.

I have two warriors with 1600 and 1800 miles on early season snow that haven't been touched except for lubrication. The slides and burgstrum carbides are doing very well. What other brand can say that?

Why would us trail riders, that profess that is all we are, be interested in running sanctioned races?

From here on I will not share any of my comparison testing so as not to confuse people.

I am sorry I didn't think this was a professional racing and or professional tunner form.

shoot out

yes now we are talking with every one working to gether sounds like a very good thing to me. and a good time to pool all of ower clutching to see what works the best as well. every one has some thing to offer good bad or indiffernt. then every one would get some thing out this effert 8)

Guys,
All I'm saying here is to think about it.

I'm not asking anyone to do anything they don't want to. If you don't want to contribute, then that is your decision. If you want to help I'm sure we can use as much as we can. Even if you’re not a tuner. Heck, I've made guys 'professional-rakers' at some of the grass drag events that i've raced in... :p And that was with a free 5min lesson…

Again, just an idea. I know that there are a lot of us who would be interested in something like this, and if you don't want to participate that is fine with me...

well i've got enough parts to fill up a 40x40 building, i think we could find something that would work, if nothing else i'm a light driver

I think it's a great idea Big Moose can't tune nothing.I'd like to see well prepared Yamaha's run in the shoot out for once.Count me in for a few bucks to help out next year.Mike

Hey Sketr2 (Dan) don't get discouraged by one persons comments! There are many of us including myself that appreciate your feedback! :D
So keep it coming 8) Because "I LIKE IT"
