Shootout... HOW PISSED OFF ARE YOU???

Count me in Mike. As I posted in response to the Shootout results from Amsnow, Big Moose Yamaha and Bender should never be allowed to represent Yamaha at the Shootout or anywhere else. They are lazy and made little or no effort to test and setup their sleds. They used a crap setup on the RX-1 from last year because they were afraid to get wet at D&D test track on Thursday before the shootout. I believe t-y could do a much better job of representing YAMAHA !!!!!

As we think about this we have to keep in mind that this is a 'Trail Sled Shootout'

So, when we start thinking about what sleds to run... 'They have to be in a Trail Format'. For me, I know that this will be the main focus for this effort.

Also, I have to be out of town for a couple of days so I'm not going to be able to comment on any responses. I will try to check in as often as possible. If I can...

i would be interested in helping, free engine/ track dyno testing, as well as my 21 years of tuning expertise. jeff

So...If it were a TY 'aftermarket' class, we could do a warmed over Viper S (not that it'll be around next year, but there will be plenty of folks looking for a hot set up for theirs), and SRX, and a Warrior or RX1.

We could do a multi level team for each class, similar to what a rally team does. 2 guys focus on chassis, 2 guys work on the motor, 2 guys on clutching...something like that.

Would it be nescesary for the whole group to work on all the sleds? I'm sure there's enough of us to get it done with a dozen sleds!hehe

I've got to ask though, what's teh mission on this one? What's the ultimate goal by getting into this particular competition? Obviously there's no monetary gain for www.totallyamaha.com or .net, the exposure and sense of pride would be great though.

Another thought. If we were to do this, would we want to take a basically stock sled, do a few hundred bucks in tuning parts and go? This is the only way I can see us competing with the stock sleds. Start with a broken in but unmodded sled, and fine tune that mutha best we can! I know, the turbos sure would be fun and all, but there will be probably a dozen companies with turbos there, right?

What's MrSled thinking on this one...?

i can be there im there every year,i live down the road from it.yes 1 sled at a time,snow/grass strtch becuz it gets tore up. if you wanna do the srx deal thatr v-max john mentioned i got that sled.i drive it there every year.already got different clutching setups, gearing, pipes, cans, etc.put all the best of knowledge together & do this with a few different sled.also able to run them.i race in the pro grass drag circuit with the srx.let me know when this gets figured out a bit more.also i like the idea of usa against canada & i dont think it will make bad blood but have a little competion fun between the states.also there is a minor (very little) down hill up hill near the end.

Maybe for aleast the first season the tuners should all get together on making it work and then once the bugs are out the members could see if they still want to split into a USA and Canada team. I do not think that the same info will show up on the site if we keep to ourselves and that is the beauty of this site. We all share and it does not matter where we live we just want to make this sled one of the best. Just a thought???

that is fine but you dont race other sleds.1 sled at a time & you race for best times unless you guys wana start a little competion thing between the states just as a little thing on hear.like the winning side buys the beer there or sumthing.(for the night)

id like to see the 2 turbos run together but i would like ya 2 to get together this winter maybe on ontario or sumthing & run side by side.

yes and he is a fast man and hes son will even be just as good if not better ... i only wish i won as many wins as him and done whats hes done .. and hes one guys that can pull it off and make any sled rock ..

when i was a new guy he took the time to teach me and my partner and now we are good races and also are very good at making sleds go ..
you just need time and test test test

no i didnt say that.i imagine you will race them.you got bigger sleds than my did & more money when he was raing tim in the oval circuit but that was years ago when phazer & exciters were the thing.the way you said it im guessing you have run gerry before & what i also gathered from it was that you havnt beat him.i imagine you gave him a run though.if you did or didnt beat him ever in any race congratlations to you for even having a sled to compete with prosser.he's a fast racer.

me and gerry are very good freinds and race all the time we are always 1st or 2nd . on snow i have not raced on grass in 2 to 3 years but this year with cats in qeubec,

and gerry is and still we ever bee my mentor as hes showed me lots and also i have bought pro stock seld off him hes the most up front guy you ever want to meet ..

What do some of you guys think about all the members on this forum put up some money to sponsor one of us to go to the shootout or represent TY.

I can't do it living in Alaska and besides I don't have the experience. One of you guys who has a race setup and race experience.

Lets see 693 members x $30.00 each= $20,790.00. That should be enough to sponsor and do some mods.

Just think of this guys, a member sponsored race team. Tell me i'm crazy.

Maybe Mr. Sled could set up collectiig the money and we could vote on who goes. It would be good having someone close to the shootout to save on travel.

Can someone put up a poll question about a member sponsored racer for TY
