When running the 3-4 degree keyways to advance the timing in the Apex's, should you run a better grade fuel? If so why? I know we run CR10EK plugs which burn colder, which in turn I guess burns slower?

I would run better fuel. Plugs have nothing to do with the speed of combustion. Ignition timing does!

Advanced ignition timing can increase spark plug tip temperature 50+ degrees. An increase in tip temp can contribute to pre-ignition.
Good idea along with your advance in timing is to run 1 heat range colder plug, hence the CR10EK.

With a 2 dgree key your still fine on regular. anything over you gotta run premium if you want your engine to live; especially on long pulls.
