Finally bit the bullet... Didn't want to flash.. The setup was far to intriguing so I inquired...Aaron at Excell is a pleasure to deal with and when I received my box... Amazed.. He thinks of everything... Even a tool to remove exhaust bolts and new bolts! Color directions for everything with setup instructions..I have never seen such a complete kit.. And the build quality on the exhaust is top shelf!
Can't wait for snow... And you shouldn't either... Call them.. They have many options...

Cant wait for results!
A muffler of that design would never fly here in Ontario unfortunately, far far too loud means big tickets here.

You consider $110 a big fine? Lol. I'm questing that muffler isn't as loud as you think, mostly at WOT. it doesn't sound that bad in the video....plus the turbo hushes it up.
I like the concept of this kit, very simple and all bolt on. I'm not a fan of ecu flashing.

$240 here last time a bud got ticket...and I hear its closer to 280 now. This design is very close to a few I have heard, and same as one I have here with my local muffler builder, it can make good power no doubt but is nowhere near as quiet as the others we are testing that are quiet enough to not draw attention. The video I saw was quite loud. You consider $110 a big fine? Lol. Bolting on a piggyback IMO is something to be very afraid of compared to flash. Either way warranty is done.

So what am I missing here?????
Why not just flash it?
Any one of these companies that flashed it to their tune can flash it back to stock just as quickly.
Throwback to 8 years ago putting the first Hi-Jackers on the Z1.

Hj. Yep,Which still kick #*$&@... With the right situation it was UN beatable.
Go reinvent the wheel lol... Not everything is a given... Right now nobody knows the future of this motor, warranty issues etc... There is only upside to running this compared to a tune... Maybe not working out every bit of the power... And sure some will be faster... But in my experience with the car turbos... It's an arm's race.. Whatever you do.. There's always some one faster $$$$
And yes... The have been sleds with non race tunes that have burned down... Again.. Nothing is universal..
I'm usually the first one to defend tunes though
...Imho it's a no brainer.... Just take the hypothetical scenario that was posted earlier... Yam comes out with a reflash for the starter... Or whatever.. I'd prefer not having all the tables inside messed with... Or having to send my ECU anywhere...
With this all the factory protections and limits are there... Everything runs within their acceptable parameters and limits.... In addition. This isn't like a pc5 if old... It reads manifold pressure and has a second map riding above the base map... So dual maps with the second adjusting for boost...
And for the stage one.. Plug and play... No manipulating boost.. The exhaust is quiet and a work of art... Sure it has a little bark at wot... They all do... Nothing loud or obnoxious... To me only the stock restrictive muffler is dramatically quieter.... Or maybe another restrictive one or two.... Simplicity.... Power and refinement..
Oh... And when you sell the machine.. You can un bolt everything and sell the kit and sell your machine as stock.. No having to give away a flash.. Or maybe what you flashed doesn't appeal to the buyer with a flash ...

You can switch your reflashed ecu with another sled if you want to sell it. You can always get some of the money back.
That's a mute point. Once people start breaking motors and being beaten by reflashed sled the value goes way down.
Remember when that exact same device was sold for 1100 turbos what happened? I do.
How much is a hj worth nowadays?

I agree somewhat with what your saying, But a PC5 and a HJ is 2 totally different animals.
