So far I have 750 on my stock belt, but 20-25 on this Gates Kevlar.2500 miles on one belt ? How many miles are you going on a belt before changing it?

Just exploded my first belt in 2000 miles. Right at 900 miles on it.every 1000 mile

these yamaha belts r $$$ cheap , compared to other oem manufacturers . i don't mind changing the belt every 800-1000 milesJust exploded my first belt in 2000 miles. Right at 900 miles on it.

Yeah I actually put the stock belt back on. It has 750 on it now. The Gates Kevlar didn't get me nothing. Little bummed but maybe it was a bad one, I've got 2 more that I'll run to they break, save the Yamaha onesthese yamaha belts r $$$ cheap , compared to other oem manufacturers . i don't mind changing the belt every 800-1000 miles

I'm having great luck with the ultimax xs belt. Excellent operation and no belt dust so far. 550 miles this last trip.

Maybe as an experiment try breaking in your next Gates and see if that makes a difference. Sounds as if you were hammering pretty hard on that belt right from the git go.

Yeah I’m going to for sure, I’ll admit I was just loving this power that Turbo Dynamics makes, this thing is awesomeMaybe as an experiment try breaking in your next Gates and see if that makes a difference. Sounds as if you were hammering pretty hard on that belt right from the git go.

FYI, the gates "kevlar" is their lower line belt. Are you sure it was not the carbon cord?
Their Carbon Cord is the Gates top dog, and still will not hold up as well as the ultimax. But the CC is a very good performing belt, just not a hi mile belt IMO.
Their Kevlar belt is designated with a G in the number, where as the CC belt has a C.
