See lots of you are using the Simmons skis but which Gen (size)?
Most of my riding is rough, narrow trail with opportunity to get into some deep snow and the occasional mountain trip. Which is best for this riding?
Plan to 144" the skid over the summer as well - does that make a difference as to which ski?

I just bought gen 2's for my 144". but I can't comment because winter is over and I didn't get to use them. I do mainly all boondocking so I think they we be ok. Everyone laughs when they see them though. LOL

i have gen 1 on my nytro and i love them. u don't get the ski tracking with them due to dual keel. and they handle awesomely. i ride in wisconsin so i don't get alot of deep snow. this year was an exception and they worked great. i love them would defanitely recommend them.

I would also just like to add that the simmons gen I were designed as mountain skis, and are still fairly wide, especially compared to the stockers. And due to the design you will still get very good floation with the gen I's. The gen II's in my opinion are really only designed for the guys in the mountains that ride 3 feet of fresh everywhere they go.

I have both the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 and love the Gen2 in the deep and trail. The Keels are the same, Gen2 are funny looking at the gas pump till you get used to it but work great on and off the trail they are wider but have a wing design so only uses what it needs. I believe Simmons designed the Gen2 for the Yammi 4 strokes heavy front ends.

This is good to hear. I can't wait to try mine out next winter. I was worried how they would work on the trail so that puts my mind at ease a little bit.

I've had Gen I and C & A Pros, but tried a set of USI X2 Triple Threats last year and found them to be the best I've ever used on and off trail. Deep keel, most adjustable/tuneable ski I've ever used. I'll have a set on my XTX before it ever hits the snow!
