What is the difference between the gen 1's and gen 2's. Is it just the width or are there also some other changes?

I think that the added flotation will more than make up for the added weight.

can you give us an overall sled width once you get those puppies installed?
Looks like they will float nicely!
Thanks.

I ran them all last winter on my '03 RX1, 159" X 2 1/4" track and they are well worth it. It does make the front float like it should, especially when going through the trees boondocking a little. Just that little bit of extra float gets you up from a start/stop in the mountains in deep stuff, and able to cruise at a slower pace without diving so much when braking for a turn etc.
Compared to a stock or generation 1 version, they don't compare.
Knowing the creator/inventor/tester personally for many years now, I never have doubted him. With anything out there, there is always someone with negative comments, yet not using a product properly, abuse or for what it's intended design is for doesn't count much in my books. These skis were initially made for the RX1/Apex because of float issues, and I would highly recommend them for any powder/deep snow use. They handle with no issue on the groomed and packed trails and the dual carbides, along with the width, make cornering flawless when rat-racing up the trails. They are a high quality plastic which doesn't impede their strength in all temperature ranges and riding terrain like other manufacturers might ignore, using cheaper materials, that may wear down or shred off on say the odd rock or ice.
This is just my 2 cents (1.8 US cents) PS-make sure you can handle the extra width on older trailers as far as hold down bars for the skis and deck width is all
