I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a set of simmons skis for my RTX. It's the best sled in the world - but the skis feel down right dangerous sometimes. Great in hardpack (shims, ski savers, and Bergstrom triple points) but in powder, or god forbid, crust, it's a life & death experience. Anyway, my questions:
1) Is 6" carbide on inside and 4" outside a good bet for this sled with 144 studs down the middle?
2) I keep hearing how "wide" these skis are. Will two sleds (only 1 with simmons skis) still fit fine on a standard ten foot enclosed trailer (sled dock top & yacht club bottem)
3) Are you simmons guys running shims with these skis?
4) Anyone have good prices?
Any other tips appreciated
