The guys who have Simmons on the rx1s do you run stock runners or upgraded carbides 4-6" I am not studded what do you recommend. Also how are these with all the doos running around out there, do you get in there tracks and get stuck? Thanks

I did 4" carbides on the outside, and 6" carbides on the inside. There seems to be some debate on which way to do it, but that is how I did it. With 96 studs, the 4-6 combo worked fine for me. Doing 6" all around is more expensive, but can be done.

I'll have to look when I get back up north, but my recollection is that I did 6" carbides on the inside and smooth carbide on the outside. Think the last ones I bought were from Mountain Performance for something like $25 per bar. Check out Simmons website for a picture of how they recommend carbide install.

6"may be too much without studs as the front will plant and the rear may come around on you especially in sharp turns at speed. Most come stock with runners so try and adjust to carbides and sizes based on your results rather than spend up front.

guys, I have wondered whether to have the longer 6" carbide on the outside or inside. I just today recieved the following reply from Simmons regarding this issue. Val Simmons responded:
"As a general rule I prefer the longer carbide on the inside for maximum turning effect. However the RX1 is a different situation. It has a lot more ski pressure up front and most owners I have talked with prefer putting them on the outside as it helps the RX1 track better on super hard pack conditions."
