Hey guys,I am interested in swapping out my stock ski for my Apex xtx as I noticed the skis really suck in deep powder riding,{wont steer well or float}makes the ride really not enjoyable.I am considering going with a set of SLP Powder Pro skis with 6 inch shaper bars.Has anyone used this set up and what are your thoughts about them on your apex. How do they perform against other makes.Maybe even some information of other make skis would be considered.Whats your preference ?

Yes on a 2007 Attak of my friends. It has a 136" Cobra track with SLP Powder Pros and I believe 6" carbides. They work really good, float well, no darting and good corner carving. I have several hundred miles on that machine on the trails and I'd say thumbs up. Probably one of the better skis available for the Apex machines. I ran PP's on my 2 stroke Viper too and really liked them. I would have kept them but they were blue and my Attak is red. Wish I would have bought black at the time and I could have passed them to my current machine.

all my brothers like apex mtx skis on their sleds. I like curve xs skis on mine. they float almost as well as the mtx skis but corner better on the hardpack.

Was steering effort increased with the PP skis, although my machine has EPS so it should help, had them on my Yamaha warrior and remember they required my muscle to turn do to its deep keel and wear bars and also remember them turning like you were riding on razors, had to be very carefull not to oversteer and get thrown off the sled on packed trails.Whats your opinion

Apex Mtx skis and snow trackers. Awesome combo on the XTX. Float well in the deep snow and rail on the tails

What is the width of these skis ,and where do you get them, approx.cost ?
Check with your Yamaha dealer for the price of the skies. Prices are different in the USA. I think they are 7 inches. Sleds are not here for me to check. I will check on the weekend and send you a picture.

This is what they look like on the Nyto. They might be the Nytro mountain ski.

Actually decreased, I'd even say the effort was decreased when I put them on my two stroke Viper. In fact at that time when I had the Viper I had changed out the previous Predator track when it had about 6500 miles on it to a Cobra (121). With the stock Yamaha skis the machine would act real twitchy (dart) and would roll up or experience heavy ski lift during hard corning when I rode it aggressive. After I put the SLP skis on the darting was relieved and it cornered much, much flatter. On my mounting plates for the Viper there were two mount holes, one for aggressive riding and one for less aggressive which was more reduced darting. Not sure if the Apex mount plates have two mount holes though.
