I've been reading that al lot of riders have changed out the stock '03 rx1 sway bar for a 13mm. Then I see what Yamaha offers an extended link for the 10mm.(alternate upgrade). What if any would the difference be? Will the links provide the same downforce on the bar to be equivelent to the 13mm? Also, when you change to the 13mm, do you have to change the links too?.
Just a topic for a snow day here while I sit and watch the snow falling here near Phila and my sled is up north.
Thanks,
Jim

Yeh just been looking around and it looks like this problem has been beat to death! I just want to get rid of the damn lift in the corners. I guess I need to find an 04 bar with sleeves or maybe you guys think I should go heavier.
Thanks

I have all the upgrades and I find that if I'm not tucked up tight to the tank I still get some lift. Riding way bad will lift the ski every time. something for you to try next time your out. Rotate the bars forward and ride tight to the tank.

13MM bar is a good upgrade though. On the 03s going to straight rate springs is also a good way to get rid of some body roll.

just put the 2.3 straight springs,13 mm bar with links, re valved shocks(replaced the steel rear shock). the difference well worth it . call bruce at pioneer perf. he has the answer. when i say difference i mean big.

I adjusted the front springs so that the A-arms sit level at rest. Made a big difference!
Then later added the 13mm sway bar, again another BIG difference!
Get the rear skid coupling set right then (Little to almost no ski lift on acceleration), and it will corner like you won't believe!

Like Kinger, I slide clear forward when I want to corner, and back when I want serious acceleration, the rear skid coupling is close enough sliding forward or back works great!

Am amazed how well it does now! :-o
I honestly never thought it could be this good!

As I understand it, the 03 link update will correct some of the angle errors with the bar, but won't make that much of a difference by itself.
Still worth doing with a new sway bar.
(Have seen the '04 and up links on ebay.)
