I know some of you have installed the front skid plate. Which plate did you go with? Was it difficult to install? Do a lot of ditch riding and looking to offer some more protection to the bottom. Does anybody make a-arm skid plates like the ones you can get for a Doo?
I have this one on my 1200 and would like to do the same.

Yamaha has a front and rear skid plate. The front can be either the one shown or the aluminum front accessory bumper. The rear protects the chain case/oil resivoir on the right side and the brake disk and associated hardware on the left side. Not too difficult to install, start at front and work back. Rear skid plate must be removed to change oil filter. Used additional hardware during install including nylock nuts, some longer bolts 1.25" in a few locations, and a couple different size washers up to 3/4 inch.
I believe Skinz has A arm skid plates remember to look for procross options under AC they have been around longer and have options not yet cross referenced to the viper but will work just fine.

Skinz also has a float plate for the procross and proclimb chassis but I believe the Yamaha equipment covers more and is a heavier construction.

I have both the front and rear Yamaha skid plates on my XTX. Found out today I had to remove the front skid plate to take the hood off.

The hood is bad enough to get off, let alone taking off the front skid plate too...but so be it(it's really not that bad once you have done it a few times....and I think I'm up around 20 or so now). I have both on for now while I'm waiting for the bumper to arrive.

That's what I was thinking. The more often I do it the easier it should be. I've got a real nice set of torx drivers now !! LOL !!!
