I hit a basket ball sized chunk in the ditch . Without the skid plate I would have been down for sure. Ended up with a big smeared spot that looks like a toungue. Sanded her down and good to go. I'll try to get pic.

Just put on my yellow skid plate on my 07 RTX. I waited till the dealer did my first oil change and I used the supplied two front screws and used 4 stainless self tapping 5/16 screws for the 4 remaining holes. I took the access cover off first just to be sure all cleared. I also ported the closed windows finally!
I just got word from the insurance co, they were concerned as ti if I ran the engine long after the impact, and were considering totalling the sled for the cost of a new engine... They can't even get a new engine, so, they're looking at puting it back together and doing tests... They're goin to make notes in my file too, so if I have problems, they'll just replace it later on I guess....

No problem Duane, glad I could help. It ended up making two bad situations just one.. or so to say.. It all worked out ok so far. I can hardly wait to get caught up on work here and for them to get my sled done, so I can head north again..
