Best money I ever spent!
Saved my a$$ a couple of times already. You don't know how much you really need it until you see somebody elses damage first hand!
I went with black....I wanted mine to blend in.

Woody: Aren't you the one who totalled two snowmobiles before going up north one year? Now I read you have basically totalled another one? You should sign up for the new Snowmobiling 101 class that is set to begin next week.
Week One: How to start your snowmobile
Week Two: How to use the throttle
Week Three: How NOT to total your snowmobile.

Re: skid
20 - 30 mins for installation, and that includes 10 mins of bs'ing & with your buddies. pretty simple.

i took the one off my old rx1 and put it on my apex-took about 45 minutes and no blood!
you should also consider cutting off the casting legs on the oil pan-ive done that on all the rx chassis sleds

My cousin was thinking of cutting his off, and replacing the spacer space with plastic... what do you think?
Do not cut those lil tabs off the oil pan from what I remember they are hollow so unless you are A good welder of cast aluminum then not a good idea.I remember A guy called Stumpbuster did the same as you did on A stump. I did what he did and installed A piece of steel Plate between the skidplate and the bulkhead to keep stuff from flexing into the pan.

they are not hollow-i cut them off of 5 different sleds
they are there to hold the engine upright when on a bench
at least trim them down 1/2 way so an impact dosent snap them off

Kathy,
Step away from the computer, and go lay down. Also be sure to tell scott to tell you that you're not allowed to use the computer without proper parental supervision.

I've got the same colour sled and I went with the black..the red doesn't match and IMHO would look like carp. I took a soft ball sized rock to my HOOD!! this past weekend...my buddies apex lobbed it up and I drove into it. I've got acouple of good scratches to touch up now.........

I have the red on my Attak GT. I was concerned about the matching, but IMO: it looks pretty good.
I'll try and get some decent pics for you tonight.
