For those of you who have installed the Skinz Airframe running boards, do you take off completly the alu support that goes inside the tunnel and under the stock running boards, or do you cut it off together with the running boards itself?

i cut mine with running boards, just left a 3/4 inch lip from front to back. my sled is an 08 rtx extended to 144 and installed 08 mtx boards

You dont remove the inside reinforcing....you keep it to stiffen tunnel.

Have a look at this thread:

Also, I took into consideration a few comments from what Christopher over on Snowest did for his Airframe installation. Your big question is to glue or not. I chose to glue because it makes a solid structural connection between running boards and tunnel. Besides, once you cut, its not like you can put it back to stock! I used the 3M adhesive which is black and has more "potting" time so its easier to get everything right.

With the tunnel plate for the drop bracket and the glue, its a bulletproof setup that takes only a bit more time.
