Sled keeps hitting limiter

8DN is the Apex Belt by it at any Yamaha dealer but the driven unit has to be adjusted for belt deflection. My sled was completely stock Just put a new 8JP belt on and try it see what happens. No money lost you well need a new belt sometime if the isn't the problem. 8JP is your stock belt if you have a spare try it.

Thanks good idea

How many miles you did you have after you had to add more weight ? Just outta curiosity. . I have 2000 miles and finally have my sled set up decent .. just wondering if she'll gain more.power ..

What are other people experiencing? ?
I was banging rev around 300 miles than studded and canned it.I added the 8dn belt. Rode the 14 season with that. Over the summer I added the COTC clutch kit, Osp adjuster, 1000 miles or so I added my first weights and this year I added the 4.5s in the tips now. It's banging the rev now coming off of driveways and drifts. Also had the YAMAHA reflash when I took it in for the reverse actuator update. That bumped up my rpms. I can run wide open at 100 mph and see 9120 give or take.

Also this season I added Stingrays airbox mod. My rpms are a little high but I plan on adding higher gears so i am hoping the rpms will settle down more with the gear change. I am not sure how much hp I will be making as I have 2500 miles. NosPro has a lot more miles be experience with this.

1-(Free) Change your secondary setting to 3-3 (Remove your helix 3 bolts, remove the helix and then place the spring into pocket hole number 3 on the secondary sheave and 3 in the helix. Twist clockwise to match up to the mounting bolts and then tighten nuts). This should help a little bit right now.
2-(About $50-$80) Try the 8DN belt like mentioned above first....it may help your problem right away. The 8DN is the stock belt for a Nytro, RX1, APEX, Vector...so any Yamaha dealer will have one. (Just an FYI, bring a caliper along with you and measure the belts width to find the widest one they have. You can measure the outside width while in the bag. This will give you more miles and bring down your rpm's). The 8JP (stock) belts are more expensive and do not last. The belt is a little longer so you will need to find a total of 3 washers that measure about .060" thousandths and will go on the 3 8mm head bolts on the back of the secondary. There are 3 washers (1 on each bolt) right now from stock. You will be adding these extra 3 washers (1 each bolt for a total of 2 when done) to these bolts and tighten. This allows the secondary to close more making the belt ride up in the secondary sheave better giving you more use of the belt.
3-(Clutch kit $295-$500) Can't go wrong there. Just make sure you find a kit that is adjustable (weights can be changed if needed) and is right for you :) Best part is if you want to add power adders to your sled in the future, you can use the same adjustable clutch kit and just make a couple changes (usually takes about 20 minutes)
4-(Best Support) I, along with so many others here are here to help you...that is what makes this site the best! Don't be afraid to ask questions as there are no dumb questions here, we all want our sleds to run, perform, look their best and not leave us stranded on the trail.

Nos I am not sure if you were addressing this to me or not. Been there done all that running 8dn with osp adjuster. Thanks though good info to rerun for all the newbies just getting started and learning there sleds as I was.

It was for Bww to let him know some ways he could fix his issue.

The "Thanks Bud ;)! " was for you and always know you can ask me anything :)

Wish you lived closer so you could try the EVO stage 4 flash in your sled.
