I never said it was built better I said it is well built and it is and yes I do own one. Very stable when sled is hoisted and the wheels look like they are heavier. Go to the website and check out the clips.

Seems to me that the Mar-lift is overcomplicated and would be in the way, if you have to work around the front of the sled, like taking off an access panel on a RX-1 or working on a belly pan or skid plate, you have that stand & winch + cable all right in the way. You also have to figure that it would take more space to store and won't lay flat like the other lifts (unless that front part folds down somehow?) On top of that the only way to operate that mar-lift is by hand, whereas the other lifts you can attach an electric drill to run up and down. I'd go with the other style, thats what I use and I've had good luck with it, after a ton of lifts it still works great.

i built a mar lift my self. i find it pretty handy and i dont find the winch in the way. in total it cost me about $50 to build. but i only had to buy the wheels and winch because im a welder and get the "employee discount" on the steel at work.

How do you figure the difference is $150?
From the websites ; Mar-List =$310 Rich-List =$260
Mar-Lift has cross braces on both slets of lifting arms (versus 1), and 3 cross braces on the base (versus 2). I like that winch with the brake better than a screw jack.

I agree I definitly like the winch better than the screw jack I can lift my sled in 30 secs flat with the mar-lift and very very stable. I dont know anything about the other as I dont own one.
I build lifts and sell them usally on e-bay. PM me with your e-mail and i will send you some pics if your interested.
