I have 900 mi on this set up ,and much of them where on very hard pack and ice logging roads. I have no real noticable wear on hyfax, and didn't have any trouble with the slides heating up at all. These are all 135mm wheels with the middle and rear using 2 bolt mounts. Some people think yamaha's are prone to slide wear over the other brands, but with the proper wheel to slide clearance they do just fine.

What's the size of the stock wheels? And doesn't larger wheels strest the rails?

Stock are 130mm. The larger wheel won't hurt anything as long as you use the proper mount. On my apex even with stock wheels, my rails started to crack around the single mount hole because of the flexing of the mount. I installed 2 bolt mounts with the larger wheels and the cracks never worsened. If you look at the new mono shock 2 skid on the '10 vector, they switched all mounts to 2 bolt.

stock are 130. I kept same wheels, plus added shft/wheels at rear bend. added yam marg kit at bend in front and same kit right in front of rear bump stop on inside, clears shock

How did you get the front wheels(on the shock shaft) to fit? The 6205 bearings are 2mm wider. Did you machine the aluminum piece on the end or what did you do?

Where are you drilling the second hole in the mount? Got any pics of the mounts?

There's slots in the rail where the lower bolt goes. I just used washers. Look at first pic where i added extra set you can see the lower bolt and washer. I did the same on the back set.

I took out the shaft with the mounts, mounted the shaft in a lathe, slipped the wheel mount on the shaft, tightened down the set screw and used a cut off tool to remove the 2mm off the mount.
