Well, my driveshaft snapped today with over 12,000 miles. I should have listened to my TotallYamaha brothers and replaced earlier but...lessen learned!!!!

Anything else to check while I'm tearing into it? Sled already has all new drive bearings. What shaft should I get? A Yamaha one or is there a better aftermarket. Is it okay to reuse my drivers? As far as I know they are ok. If they are damaged I will of course replace.

Any hints would be appreciated!

Rotate your drivers, change upper & lower oil seals and cover gasket, check your chain and sprockets for any abnormal wear, check your speedo bearing & repack it, I replaced mine with a YAM driveshaft, you can spend a few bucks more and get a MICRO BELMONT some seem to say that their stronger...its a good time to swap your track if need to.

Rotate drivers? Why? Do they wear unevenly? I put a track on last spring. Shame on me for not replacing the drive shaft. It cost $139.00. I thought they were 2-3 hundred.

All other seals and bearings were replaced last year.

They tend to wear...take a close look and you'll see how they tend to wear on the power side, the side that has contact to track COGS, its reccomendend to rotate them when you replace with a new track, the track COGS and DRIVERS match up better.

Sounds like good advice. I'll budget a drive shaft in when I swap tracks this spring.
