Anyone try this gear? I am looking for something that is not too expensive and is water resistant and wind proof for the wife. She doesn't go a lot and if it is too cold she will not go. I am open to any opionions people have on other brands.

No experience with snoforce myself. I always have had good experience with FXR and the wife wears a FXR Yamaha suit. There garments can be pricey but you can find them on sale at a lot of places. They make quality gear in all price ranges. Good luck in your search.

The sno force line is a yamaha line just made for them it is new this year. They put this line in to replace the Klim. This is supposed be a great stuff from what I heard its the same material that NASA uses. Hope this helps.

I used it this last winter. Klim, Fxr, etc. it sat in the closet. Very much like klim in every way but regulates your body temp as well. Highly recommend it! I had Revy pants jacket and boots. Five stars from me! Cody - Robertson Motorsports

"same material that NASA uses"

"regulates your body temps"

NASA build spaceships, your not using a space suit, space is no air -200c and crazy radiation suit has built in heaters and so forth..

You body temp is 36c and it will try to stay that way regardless of weather.. No garment regulates your body temp...

Anything windproof and waterproof will make you sweat and the garments are multilayered to try to move water towards the cold side..

It's clothing not magic!

Welcome back from your most recent trip to the space station captin. NASA does develop alot of different materials for things other than trips to the moon and space station

I bought a jacket at the end of last year. The zipper broke on my Yamaha jacket. Seemed ok to me, I never got cold and it felt a lot lighter than the Yamaha jacket. I would recommend it.

At last year's Viper reveal in Minneapolis, Yamaha had little test tubes filled with the stuff that they say is incorporated into the SnoForce products. They demonstrated how the stuff works by having you rub your hands together until they were warm and then holding one of the test tubes in your hand. You could feel your hands cool down almost immediately. The stuff is called "Outlast". The following is from SnoForce marketing materials:

Outlast® technology is a proactive moisture management solution that controls moisture before
it begins, for increased comfort. It continuously absorbs excess body heat and releases it to
maintain a constant body temperature. This differentiates from passive technologies, such as
wicking or quick-drying, that provide benefits only after the body has started to overheat and
sweat.
