I bought my wife an 08 Phazer MTX and so far she is liking it, she has only been out on it a few times, but after I set up the suspension better for her, it is way better and fun to ride. But we were out this weekend in fresh powder (about 2 feet at least) and it goes through it fine, but it was getting some snowdust into the airbox and stalling it. I dont know how many times exactly, but quite a few. I opened the airbox to look inside and saw there was some water inside it so that is why I assume that the snow was getting in there. Is there anybody else with this issue? And how did you fix it? Thanks for any help.

what happens is : in between your A-arms there is the plastic cover that when removed exposes your stearing linkage and front of motor. You need to seal all around this piece to stop the snow from being shoved in. Some have used zip ties to hold it to adjasent piece others silicone. I used roofing quality weather stripping and sarrounded the whole piece. Also getting the skins float plate helps also. What happenes is the snow is forced up and through a- arms and shoved in through the cracks then hits the motor, melts, steams, then sucked up through air filter thus saturating it and filling up air box. Also now when you stop driving machine and park it out side over night all that melted snow (ice) freezes in by the motor around all the stearing system. Eventualy locking up the whole stearing (worst case) and or forceing the ice out through the stearing rod boots, sometimes ripping them. Hopes this helps?
