Anyone else have their snow flap bracket cracking? I went through a couple on my 06 and now one on my 08. Really getting tired of replacing them, not sure how much longer my flap will last after drilling out the rivets so many times.

I do not run studs and I am not backing over the flap.

Same boat with my 06, i finally gave up on the rivets and replaced them with nuts and bolts!

Same on my 08 apex. Just left the old one on.

Same on mine I moved the bracket up higher so I can drill new holes and re use it. Yeah this year went to bolts on the snow flap! Little 1/4" SS bolts.

mine is cracked too.
i plan to remove it this summer and fab something heavier/sturdier to mount the flap.
100 bucks for a bracket that is going to break again is a little steep

Made this for Dad's Vector, similar one for Uncle's. 1/8" aluminum. I didn't bend the ends on Uncle's (not shown). Both appear to be working, my biggest concern is cracking the muffler support, it's pricey and is cast....

i did like chief did - my sons 06 nytro was breaking the rear mount over and over - i got a little thicker piece of aluminum and just fabbed one out of thicker stock - i put a little more pitch on it so the flap stuck out further and away from the track to avoid that pesky running over it in reverse.

I installed the bracket from either the 08 or 2010 model. One of the two is half the price of the other. They are designed better than the 06 model. Also, be sure to order the Yamaha rivets too!!

I have the same concern. I figure the bracket is a failure point. There is always that fear of if you make something stronger something else has to give.

I wonder if increasing the amount of rivets or adding some washers to the rivets would help spread the load?

06 bracket is $136.71

07-10 bracket is $44.01

Ah yes, thanks! It was about 5 months ago when I changed mine, that is why I couldn't remember exactly!!

Also, IMO....extra rivets will only cause more weak points.
