i noticed at my dealer that the gt has the old style snowflap an the fx has the new one.anyone else notice that.

Interesting observation. Never came across that info. Maybe one of the sleds on the showroom floor was a pre-production model?
no,both of these sleds are production models.they came in at the dealer not too long ago.dont know why they would put an old snowflap style on a new sled.

I called my dealer about this about a week ago. He indicated all the GTs had the old style. Not sure why, unless Yamaha's wanting to deplete their old inventory...

yamaha tends to find ways to get rid of old inventory.... just look at the viper like venoms and ventures..... or the single bulb headlight hanging around a cpl years on the lower end models....
they probably had a bunch leftover.... might as well use them up... i would have guessed them to use on the standard phazer though not the upgraded GT

another thing is probly to make the fx look more snowcross-ish...to attract that target group
who is gonna see much of our flaps anyway, it might not even need one the way some are pre season ditzing the measly 80hp

The only reason... I bought the GT was for the windshield. I probably should have got an FX and ordered a GT windshield dammit. I really liked the FX with the yellow shocks and now they got the better snowflap too.
OH yeah.... well I got.... ... knee wind protectors, and a big windshield. ACK I feel like I bought a two up lol
